Trina Biswas is an Instructor and the Director of Undergraduate Studies at the Department of Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness at Louisiana State University. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Economics from LSU in 2015. She also worked at LSU and at the University of Florida as a Post-doctoral Research Associate. As a post-doctoral researcher at LSU, her area of research was Rural Development Economics. At the University of Florida, her research focused on International Trade and Production Economics.
She currently teaches introductory & intermediate microeconomics, intermediate Linear Programming, and International Trade courses. She is also the undergraduate internship coordinator for the department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. Her research focuses on the area of international trade and development economics. She is also interested in doing Diversity and inclusion research related to LGBTQ+ studies.
Dr. Biswas is highly involved in the diversity, equity, and inclusion work at LSU. Currently, she serves as a co-advisor for the Tigers for cultivating Change club, a Safe Space member, and a Grace advocate at LSU. She volunteers for the LSU International Programs. She has served as a Diversity & Inclusion champion for the College of Agriculture from January 2021 to December 2022.
