5-meter Toroidal Grating Monochromator (5m-TGM) Beamline
The beamline is equipped with 3 interchangeable toroidal gratings which cover the photon energies:
25 eV – 60 eV (300 gr/mm)
50 eV – 120 eV (600 gr/mm
100 eV -240 eV (1200 gr/mm)
The resolving power at the Boron K edge (~200 eV) is about 800.

5-m-TGM Surface Science End Station
The end station for the 5-m-TGM is equipped with:
Omicron EA-125 photoelectron analyzer for UPS (ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy)
and XPS (X-ray Photoemission Spectroscopy).
LEED (low energy electron diffraction) optics
sputtering/annealing and thin-film deposition are also available for surface science
applications.
conventional laboratory UV and dual-anode X-ray sources are also available
Soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy (25 eV – 240 eV) can be performed with a total
electron yield method.
- All measurements are done under ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) conditions.
