Biography

Dr. Yizhou Qian (pronounced YEE-joh CHI-en; go by Dr. Q) is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management in the School of Kinesiology at Louisiana State University. His research addresses problems at the intersection of service marketing and digital communication with a focus on the esports and sports industries. He also leverages artificial intelligence techniques, including machine learning and natural language processing, to analyze consumer sentiment and engagement across both physical and digital platforms.

So far, Dr. Qian’s research has been published in academic journals including Journal of Business Research, Telematics and Informatics, Sport Management Review, European Sport Management Quarterly, Communication and Sport, International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, International Journal of Sport Communication.

Dr. Qian also serves on the editorial board for the International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, Communication & Sport, and Journal of Electronic Gaming and Esports.
