Research Interests
Prof. Thompson's research is in the area of porous materials. Fundamental research topics include microscale fluid mechanics, interfacial and multiphase behavior, dispersion, solute and particle transport. General application areas include materials processing, oilfield processes, environmental transport, and separations. A major focus of the research is the development of computational modeling techniques, particularly for pore-scale and multiscale modeling.
