Research

Dr. Leitner's main academic interests are in the research and application of geospatial technology, mainly Geographic Information Systems (GIS), small Unoccupied Aerial Systems (sUAS), and spatial analysis/modeling/mapping of the geographies of crime and health.  Ongoing research discusses the spatiotemporal forecasting of crime events, geospatial privacy issues, and fine-scale spatial data collection and analysis combining spatial video geonarratives and physiological measurements of people.
