Our Commitment to Diversity
We encourage applications from individuals with diverse racial, ethnic, and/or cultural backgrounds. Baton Rouge is a racially diverse city and our work in the greater Baton Rouge community allows us to provide services to and conduct research with racially diverse individuals in our community. We take great pride in this diversity.
As an area, we strive to enrich the experience of faculty, staff, and students through promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are committed to recognizing and eliminating barriers to success based on race, sex, gender identity, ability, age, class, sexual orientation, religion, and national origin. We encourage each member of our area to speak up when any form of bias occurs, to educate themselves about different forms of bias and compassionate intervention strategies, and to help hold each other accountable regarding the equity of our practices. We firmly believe in LSU’s Mission, Vision, & Diversity Statements.
