Biography

Mackenzie McCarty Nelson joined the Manship School as an academic counselor in January 2024. She brings extensive experience to this role, having served as an academic counselor in LSU's University College Center for Advising and Counseling for six years and an admissions officer in LSU Enrollment Management for three years. Nelson's dedication to student success has been recognized with prestigious awards, such as LSU Advisor of the Year in 2023 and the LSU Staff Stripes Award in 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master of Arts in student affairs in higher education from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.
