Danny Barrow has been selected to serve as LSU's Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success, pending approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors. Barrow has been serving as the Interim Vice President since March. In the permanent role, Barrow will continue to lead recruiting and retention efforts that attract the best and brightest students who will succeed in the classroom and beyond, continuing to elevate LSU's academic profile.

LSU Mechanical Engineering Professor, AgCenter Receive $10M Grant to Design New Variety of Rice

As anyone in South Louisiana knows, rice is a major part of one’s diet. It is the most widely consumed staple food for more than half of the world’s population, which continues to grow each year. With the production of rice increasing, so does the need for water to grow it. In order to not use up nature’s most precious valuable resource—water—one LSU College of Engineering professor is working with the LSU AgCenter to design a new variety of rice that will be able to withstand drought conditions, making rice production fruitful while not exhausting natural resources.

LSU President William F. Tate IV has named Keena Arbuthnot to the inaugural position of Vice President and Chief Data Officer, pending approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors.
