Partnership Contacts at LSU
There are offices at LSU that coordinate volunteer and service-related campus-community partnerships. Each of our offices has a special focus area and engage with the community in different ways. Please see below for which office is the best match for your interests, or if you have any questions, please contact any of us and we will be happy to point you in the right direction.
Center for Community Engagement, Learning, and Leadership (CCELL)
225-578-4245
CCELL serves as a clearinghouse for service-learning partnerships and community-engaged research. A service-learning partnership involves a community partner (usually a nonprofit organization, governmental agency, PK- 12 public school, or the philanthropic arm of a for-profit organization) and faculty member working together to develop a service placement or project that will engage students in serving the community partner's needs while gaining an enhanced understanding of the learning objectives in an academic course. These partnerships involve an entire class, or occasionally a small group of students, serving with your organization for an entire semester. For more information, see the Community Resources section on this website.
Community University Partnership (CUP)
225-578-8699 or 225-387-5131
Since 2001, CUP has exhibited the university's commitment to community through its commitment to building community partnerships in the historic, Old South Baton Rouge community and the neighborhoods immediately north of LSU's campus. CUP's programmatic initiatives center on community organization, economic development, neighborhood revitalization, youth development and home ownership.
