October 16, 2024
Day 2 of the 2024 Scholarship First tour took LSU President William F. Tate IV to Winnfield to tour a logging facility and learn more about the industry with Rep. Jack McFarland. That was followed by lunch and a look at the state's rich political legacy at the Louisiana Political Museum.
Next up was Fort Johnson in Vernon Parish for a briefing on training provided at the U.S. Army installation, followed by a visit to NUNU Arts & Culture Collective in Arnaudville, an educational organization dedicated to fostering a living culture using a combination of art, music, dance and Louisiana French.
The day wrapped up with food and music at an Acadiana reception at Bayou Teche Brewing.
