Director, Community and Education Partnerships
Brandon M. Smith is an LSU alum and native of the Greater Baton Rouge area. As the Director of Community and Education Partnerships, Smith is the primary contact between Louisiana State University and key external constituencies including, the city-parish government, local school districts, nonprofit and faith-based organizations; and the historic, Old South Baton Rouge community. He also works with the President and Provost to build community partnerships and coordinate outreach communications.
Before assuming the position of Director, Smith was an fourth-grade educator with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System through Teach for America. He is also an ordained minister in the Church of God in Christ, Inc and serves locally as pastor of Grace Covenant Community Church. In 2011, Smith received the Business Report's Forty Under 40 award which honored men and women under the age of 40 who are influencing decisions, capturing the entrepreneurial spirit and balancing bottom-line results with involvement in community and charitable activities.
Smith is married to Rachanda Wilson Smith; they have one daughter, Katelyn and two sons, Wilson and Brennan.
