LSU Alexandria, Shreveport, and Eunice Honored as Military Friendly Schools for 2024-25
April 09, 2024
Three LSU System universities — LSU Alexandria, LSU Shreveport, and LSU Eunice — have been designated Military Friendly Schools, signifying that they create sustainable and meaningful education pathways for the military community.
All three universities achieved Gold status, the second highest level, for their commitment to creating civilian opportunities for active duty military, veterans, and their qualifying family members.
Through its on-campus Veterans Resource Center, LSUS helps service members navigate the Military Tuition Assistance landscape and connect to other local and federal resources. Members of the military community have opportunities to pursue bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees as well as a host of professional credentials and other continuing education programs.
“LSUS is proud to be recognized once again as a Military Friendly and Military Spouse Friendly school,” said Evan Harris, director of the resource center. “We’ve got an amazing crew here made up of military veterans, spouses, and dependents who want nothing more than to see our students succeed."
LSUA stands out as Military Friendly through its unwavering commitment to enhancing support for veterans, said Lacey Caillier, LSUA student involvement coordinator.
“Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) is deeply honored to receive the prestigious Military Friendly Gold designation as an affirmation of our ongoing dedication to serving our military students on campus," Caillier said. "We remain steadfast in our mission to provide a supportive and welcoming environment for all those who have served our country.”
Through its Veterans Affairs Office, LSU Eunice provides students that qualify for VA Educational Benefits with superior, efficient services, including students who have served the country on active duty, and in the National Guard and reserves. LSUE also provide services for dependants of surviving veterans, deceased veterans, and 100 percent disabled veterans.
Military Friendly ratings are determined through the evaluation of public and other data gathered through an annual survey process. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by the Viqtory organization with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.
Viqtory is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business connecting the military community to civilian opportunities. It is not a part of or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Defense or any federal government entity.
