Doctor of Musical Arts
The Doctor of Musical Arts degree is designed to prepare students to be artist-performers and conductors, in either university settings or the professional arena.
A minimum of 60 semester hours of graduate credit is required to complete the degree. Up to six hours of graduate credit may be transferred from another institution if such credit satisfies required or elective courses at LSU and is approved by the Area Coordinator of the course area. The degree must be completed within five years. For more information about performance specializations, please contact the appropriate faculty member.
