Biography

Rachel Bardin is a director and cinematographer known for her use of natural light, bold compositions and explorations of environmental and social issues. She found her way into filmmaking through photography, surfing and writing. She holds an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin. Rachel has worked for The Atlantic: Rethink, Bloomberg, United Way, and more, and her work has been shown by PBS, universities, and film festivals. Her documentary *Lavoyger* won awards at IFF Boston and Flyway Film Festival and her series *Animal Facts Club* played at the American Conservation Film Festival and the PBS online Film Festival.  Her current project *Coquina* is a film about the struggles surrounding public history in "the nation's oldest city".
