Theatre Scholarships

Available Opportunities

The LSU School of Theatre offers several departmental scholarships to incoming freshman and transfer students each year. These scholarships range from $500 to $3,000 per academic year and are renewable, provided the student meets academic requirements set by the School of Theatre.

Merit is the primary factor considered, but financial need and area of study may also be taken into account during the selection process. Please note that these awards are highly competitive and available only to Theatre majors, as there is a limited number available each year.

How to Apply

1. To access the Theatre Scholarship Essay Form students need to log-in to their LSU Admissions Portal (lsu.edu/portal).
2. In the Admissions Portal students will see a checklist of materials either missing or received.
3. A link to “Theatre Essay Questions to Submit for Admission and Scholarship Consideration” will be in the checklist of any student who listed Theatre as their intended major on Common App.
