Approved Course Substitutions for Minors

Students enrolled in the Ogden Honors College prior to fall 2024 may pursue a minor with the following substitutions as needed:

HNRS 1035 can be substituted for HNRS 2010; HNRS 1036 can be substituted for HNRS 2009.

Any HNRS 2000-level course may be substituted for ONE of the following: 

• HNRS 2000
• HNRS 2009 or 2010
• HNRS 2100

Substitutions for Honors Research and LASAL Research minors:

• Any two courses (6 hours) in a student’s current Upper Division Honors track may be substituted for HNRS 3800 and HNRS 3900 in Honors Research and LASAL Research minors.  
• All students pursuing research minors must take HNRS 4000 or the equivalent in their majors.

Substitution for LASAL Minors:

• HNRS 2013 State of Louisiana will be substituted for HNRS 2015.

Note: All other requirements of the minor must be met. Initial substitutions that apply at the time of minor declaration will be processed by the OHC advising team during the minor approval process. Future substitutions can be made upon request by contacting an OHC academic counselor.
